This Month's Selection - The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society
Carole picked this book for us and she was so excited about reading it that she mistakenly read it last month while we were all reading Indignation. This book tells the story of Juliet Ashton and how she became involved with a group of people who live on the Channel Island of Guernsey, what they endured during World War II, and how it changes Juliet's life. The book is written through a series of letters, telegrams and journal entries between Juliet and the people in her life, and friends of Juliet as they discuss her.
Father's Day is Coming (June 21)!
Don't forget ladie's, father's day is coming. I'm getting Chris a kindle shh.... don't tell him (don't worry, he never reads this site). I'm thinking for him, it's going to be a great gift since he travels so much. Now instead of carrying books, he can just carry this and if he finishes all his reading material, he can easily download more. Oh, and I forgot to get him a birthday present, so I have to get him something good.
